Hi, I'm Dr. April Blake.
I've been a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Midwife for nearly 20 years, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that so many women grow up not really knowing how their own bodies work. We learn bits
and pieces from the playground, the internet, a slightly awkward talk at school. And then we spend years wondering whether what's happening to us is normal!
I'd love for our daughters to grow up differently.
Moon to Moon is a weekend for you and your girl to learn about the female body together, ask all the questions, eat beautiful food, walk in the forest, and come home feeling closer to each other and a lot
more at home in yourselves.
It's warm, it's fun, and it's honest.
Everything in a woman's body is related to everything else, and once you start to see how it all fits together, it's honestly kind of incredible.
What We'll Learn Together
How the female body works
We start with the basics of our physiology and reproductive anatomy: what's where, what it does, and why it's designed the way it is. Clear, age-appropriate and calm, so it feels like learning something wonderful rather than something embarrassing.
Hormones, and how to look after them
What hormones actually are, what they do every day (far more than periods!), and the simple things we can do to support them. Once you understand the rhythm, so much starts to make sense.
Food that feeds our hormones
How to eat to support our hormones and steady energy: protein, healthy fats, keeping blood sugar nice and steady, and why breakfast matters. No "good" and "bad" foods here, just real, nourishing ideas you can take home and use.
Mood, and the tools to support it
Big feelings are part of growing up, and they're part of being a woman at every age. We'll talk about how hormones and mood are connected, and gentle tools that can help, including food, lifestyle, sleep, movement, and an introduction to how amino acids and botanicals can support mood. (Just so you know, this is an introduction for learning, and anything specific is always best discussed individually with your own practitioner.)
Period health basics
Everything I wish every girl knew before her first period:
- What to use and when, from pads to period pants to cups, and how to choose what feels right
- How to prepare, so she feels ready rather than caught out
- What PMS actually is, and how to help prevent it
- How to prevent, and ease, cramps and headaches naturally
Open questions, all of them
There will be plenty of open space to ask anything at all. Nothing is silly, nothing is off limits, and there's always a way to ask privately if that feels easier.
More Than a Workshop
This is a gathering, not a classroom.
Time together, just the two of you
Life is busy, and it can be hard to find real time to talk. This weekend gives you and your daughter space to slow down, learn more about one another, and have the kinds of conversations that are so much easier in a beautiful, safe place.
Community with other mothers and daughters
There's something really lovely about realising everyone else is wondering the same things! We'll spend time together as a group, sharing, laughing and learning side by side.
Time in nature
We'll be hiking through the forest at Glen Dye, breathing in proper Scottish air and leaving the screens and the to-do lists behind for a little while.
Delicious, nourishing food
All our meals are made to nourish and support our hormones, so you'll be eating everything we're learning about. And it's genuinely delicious.
Celebrating our bodies
Above all, this weekend is a celebration of how amazing the female body is, and of the young woman your daughter is becoming.

Moon to Moon
Mother & Daughter Retreat
All the Parts of the Gathering:
Before: an online welcome session
A few weeks before we meet, we'll gather online to introduce ourselves, get to know each other a little, and begin learning about female health, so everyone arrives already feeling part of the group.
The weekend: 9 to 11 April 2027
Three days together at Glen Dye in the Scottish forest: teaching sessions, open question time, forest hikes, shared meals, and plenty of time for just you and your daughter.
After: an online check-in
A few weeks after the weekend, we'll come back together online to check in, see how everyone's getting on, and answer any new questions that have popped up since.
What's Included
£995 for one mother (or guardian) and daughter
This includes the whole thing:
- Your lodging for the weekend at Glen Dye
- All meals, freshly made and nourishing
- All teaching sessions and activities, including the forest hikes
- The online welcome session before the weekend
- The online check-in session after the weekend
Places are limited. I'm keeping Moon to Moon small and intimate, with just 5 mother and daughter pairs, so every girl feels comfortable and there's plenty of time for everyone's questions.
Reserving your place: a £200 deposit secures your spot, with the remaining £795 due by 1 March 2027. Just so you know, the deposit and the balance are both non-refundable, unless there's an illness or something else beyond your control. I'll look at each of those on a case-by-case basis.
Book by 31 December 2026 and, as a little thank you, you'll receive a 30-minute one-to-one session with me, online or in person. It's your time to ask anything at all about your health and get real Naturopathic advice!

Questions You Might Have
Does my daughter need to have started her period?
Not at all. Whether she's started or not, this weekend will help her feel prepared and confident.
Can a guardian, aunt or other trusted adult come instead of mum?
Yes, absolutely! Moon to Moon is for a girl and the woman who cares for her.
What if my daughter is shy?
That's completely normal, and she's in good company. Nobody has to share anything they don't want to, and there will always be a way to ask questions privately.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
Yes. Just let us know when you book and we'll make sure everyone is well fed.
What should we bring?
We'll send a full packing list after booking. Just so you know, good walking boots and a waterproof are a must for Scotland in April!
I'd love to welcome you and your daughter to Moon to Moon. It's going to be such a special weekend.
If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch. I'd be happy to chat.
With joy,
Dr. April Blake
